This is a new take on an old blog. I was a high school English teacher. from 1980 until my retirement in 2010. Throughout the 2000's I moderated a thriving anime club. I created this blog for the current anime and manga news and views. I am now a college professor; I use anime to help my students recognize male and female archetypal characters and analyze Joseph Campbell's literary theory of the archetypal hero's journey as postulated in his famous book, The Hero with A Thousand Faces. I also utilize classic and popular contemporary literature, manga, anime film, art, music and dance as these are the pathways and manifestations of the archetype.
